- 意味：詳しくみる（こと）、深堀りする（こと）
- 使い方：ビジネスミーティングなどのプレゼンテーションや説明において、「資料や表題の詳細を見ていきましょう」のフレーズに頻繁に使われる。直訳の通り、海面からはわからない暗い海底を深く潜って確認するように、対象を詳しく見ていくこと。もともとdeep diveは名詞句として使われ始めたが、最近はdeep diveを動詞句としても使用。また、take、into、onなどと一緒にdeep diveが使われることも多い。名詞句で使う際はdeep diveのdiveが可算名詞のため前に冠詞aが必要。

動詞"deep dive"の過去形に注意
英語ネイティブの仕事プレゼンテーションで、deep diveは何度も聞いたことがあります。
詳細を見ていくdeep diveの対象に”入り込む”のイメージから、deep diveの後にintoが続くのも理解しやすいですよね。
「詳しく調べた」と動詞句で使う際の過去形はdeep doveとdeep divedの両方があります。
前者は変則的な活用形ですがリスニングもできるように頭に入れておいたほうがいいです。
